How long does the process take?

Posted by Mark Keenan

Changing your name via deed poll is a life-changing event which many spend a long time deciding upon.

However, surprisingly it only takes 1-2 working days to official change your name once you’re certain.

How long does it take?

You can receive your deed poll documents and our guide pack within 1-2 working days.

Depending on how and when you choose to receive your deed poll you can receive it within 24 hours of ordering online.

To complete your name change, you will need to ensure that all persons and organisations have been notified of your name change, this needs to be done immediately but can take between three and eight weeks to be changed.

What happens within this time period?

We will receive and draft your deed poll and ensure that it’s correct. It will be checked twice by 2 different paralegals and will then be placed in an envelope along with your guide and any certified copies.

This will then get sent to your door by first class delivery. It is then down to you to execute your deed poll using our helpful guide and notify everyone of your name change.

Check out our ‘Who to advise after‘ blog post for more information on this.
